BIENVENIDOS

Spanish 1 AB will provide students with a general introduction to the Spanish language: sound system, pronunciation, functional vocabulary related to everyday life, cultural information and basic grammatical structures.  Emphasis will be on the acquisition of four skills: listening, speaking, reading, and limited writing.  There are two main objectives of the course: first to give students the ability to carry on a simple conversation and secondly, the course endeavors to introduce the students to the cultural richness and diversity of the Spanish-speaking world.

I am looking forward to introducing you to this great language and culture.  Throughout this year I hope to spark a passion for learning about new places and people, while at the same time starting your way towards mastering a new language.
